NEW YORK -- February 1, 2000 -- CommerceInc Corporation has selected DL Interactive to build the technology infrastructure for its new corporate headquarters in midtown Manhattan. CommerceInc, an Internet e-commerce company, is moving its headquarters from Lexington KY to Manhattan following a $20 million infusion of investment capital from individual and institutional investors.

This infrastructure build-out includes installation of all wiring and hardware, high-speed computer network with direct connections to the Internet and other CommerceInc offices, acquisition and installation of desktop and networked laptop computers, e-mail, contact management and other applications software, customized Intranet site with remote access, firewall and security systems, and the creation of a help-desk to support internal operations.

"Our priority right now is to focus on company growth, and our main business -- which is business to business e-commerce," says Sara Schapiro, Office/Project Manager at CommerceInc. "We don't have time to worry about finding one company to run wires, and another to install phones, and another to set up a network -- and then hope they all work together. With DL Interactive, everything is handled through one company -- which makes the whole process much more reliable."

DL Interactive is also responsible for setting up the phone systems and voice mail for the company. A next-generation system from Altigen was selected because of its flexibility, easy maintenance and wide array of features as compared to traditional PBX phone systems. Speed of setup and the ability to quickly increase capacity were major factors in choosing this system, as was the ability to handle both analog and digital lines.

"We have a unique opportunity to create a foundation of integrated technology not normally possible," says Daniel Latner, Founder and CEO of DL Interactive. "We're starting with a nearly empty office building, so we have the opportunity to make sure that all the necessary groundwork is laid, from running the right cables needed, to making sure that every piece of equipment is certified to run on the network. Although we're on an tight schedule due to CommerceInc's extremely rapid growth, we're able to integrate all the technology -- so the phone system talks to the computers, and everything is tied together via the Intranet site. This gives us a very reliable, feature-rich and easy-to-expand system as the company continues to grow."

CommerceInc currently has approximately 45 employees working from this location, with a growth rate of about 2-3 new employees added each week. DL Interactive will continue to support the company and assist in building an internal I.T. staff designed to eventually take over the support responsibilities.
